Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology, best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. “The Treasure Seeker” is short adventure story by Andrew Lang where the main figures are a party of shepherds sat one night in the kitchen of the inn talking over old times and telling of the strange things that had happened to them in their youth. One of theirs story was much more exciting than someone could guess. One of them told about meeting with mysterious dark spirit who was as he said of himself the Treasure Seeker of the mountain. But it doesn't mean he wanted to kill him, he offered him gold. Read the story till the end to know, probably it was all the shepherd's fantasy.
