Theodore Herman Albert Dreiser was an American novelist and journalist of the naturalist school. Dreiser's best known novels include "Sister Carrie"and "An American Tragedy" which touch upon such subject as tensions that can arise between ambition, desire, and social mores. The influence he had on the generation that followed his was enormous. Sister Carrie is a novel by written in 1900.
