Andrew Lang was a Scottish prolific author, mostly known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. “The White Wolf” is a short story, entered in “The Grey Fairy Book” collection. The tale is about the king, who has three beautiful daughters, but the youngest is the fairest of the three. Once, before the departure in a distant part of his kingdom, the king promises to the younger daughter to bring her a wreath of wild flowers. Not finding any flower shops, the sad king returns to the palace, but on the way he meets the wolf with a wreath of wild flowers on the head, and hurriedly promises to give him the first thing that meets him on the way to castle instead the wreath.
