Joseph Jacobs was a notable collector of English fairy tales. He popularized such stories as: "The Cat and the Mouse", "Jack the Giant Killer", "Jack and the Beanstalk". "Three little Pigs" is one of the most popular English fairy tales, it has been translated to many languages. Jacobs published the first best-known form of the story in English Fairy Tales in 1890. “The Three Heads in the Well” is a fairy tale collected by Joseph Jacobs. The story narrates the time of King Artur who had a beautiful daughter by his beautiful wife, but when his wife died, he married a hideous widow with a daughter of her own, for her riches, and his new wife set him against his daughter. His daughter begged leave to go and seek her fortune, and he permitted it. On her way she met an old man which told her about three golden heads in a well. What was that?
