John Francis Campbell (29 December 1821 – 17 February1885) was a well-known Scottish author and specialized in Celtic studies scholar. He was educate at Eton and Edinburgh. Also, he was able to speak Gaelic, Lapp, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Italian, German and Spanish. The most famous published works are "Popular Tales of the West Highlands", which include 4 volumes (1860-62), and "The Celtic Dragon Myth" (1911).
