Katherine Mansfield is considered the most prominent writer from New Zealand where she was born. During her life in England Kathrine Mansfield made friends with Virginia Woolf, D. H Lawrence and some other modernists, whose perception of the world had a major effect on her works. 'The Sister Of The Baroness' is a short story by Kathrine Mansfield first published in the collection book 'In a German Pansion' in 1911. The main characters is an english lady who stays in a german pansion where people are expecting the arrival of a dumb daughter of a baroness. Everybody in the pension is extremely excited by that fact, and their delight grows when the daughter arrives with a beautiful young lady, the sister of the baroness. She immediately becomes the object of desire of young man...but what does her heart long for?
