“The Magic Kettle” tells us about honesty. One day, the old man who lived in his little house right in the middle of Japan, found a rusty old iron kettle. He was very glad because a good kettle costs a lot of money and it is well to have a second one in case of need. He took the kettle home and put it in the place of the other one.
But soon the strange thing happened and the kettle transformed into a tanuki! The old man asked his neighbor to help him in catching the beast and when they succeeded they closed it in the chest and decided to sell it to Jimmu who was a tradesman. Jimmu became interested in tanuki, but when the old man opened the chest there was only the old kettle. What happened next? Read “The Magic Kettle” and find out yourself!
