Laura E. Richards (1850 – 1943) was an American children’s author. She also wrote biographies and poetry and more. Her father was an abolitionist and the founder of the Perkins Institution and Massachusetts School for the Blind, and had left a significant mark on Richards’ writings. Eletephiny is considered to be one of her most notable work.
