H. Rider Haggard was an English novelist and Victorian writer of African frontier adventure novels. He initiated many of the now common themes of the lost civilisation and lost continent, including the ancient magic and curses, secret chambers and mysticism. Together with Arthur Conan Doyle, Haggard is considered as one of the founder of Lost World literary genre. 'Hunter Quatermain's Story' is a short story first published in 1889 as a part of the book 'Allan's Wife And Other Tales' which includes 'Allan's Wife', A  Tale Of Three Lions', and 'Long Odds' besides this story.
