Frances Eliza Hodgson Burnett was an American-English playwright and author, best known for her children's stories. She had a long and productive writing career, during which she penned 55 titles, 5 of which became best-sellers and 13 of which were adapted for the stage.  "A Little Princess" is a rewritten and expanded version of Burnett's 1888 short story entitled "Sara Crewe: or, What Happened at Miss Minchin's". The novel tells us of the of a wealthy young girl troubles, Sara Crewe. She is sent to an oppressive London boarding school during her father’s campaign in India. Thanks to Capt.Crewe’s money, Sara is treated as a little princess until the day her father dies.
