Edward Stratemeyer was an American writer. The main his genre is  juvenile fiction. He had Stratemeyer Literary Syndicate and it produced such books as the Rover Boys series, the Hardy Boys series, the Tom Swift series, the Bobbsey Twins series, and the Nancy Drew series. He graduated high school in the ’s and then he began writing juvenile fiction. His first financially rewarding story was published in , and he soon became a regular contributor to several boys' magazines. Edward Stratemeyer died in Newark at the age of lobar pneumonia.
