Lyman Frank Baum (1856 – 1919) better known in the literary world by his pen name L. Frank Baum, was a brilliant American author chiefly known for his children's books. The world fame was obtained by one of his best works named The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Numerous works of him nowadays are participated as screenplays for cartoons, computer games, and television in whole.

“Tom, the Pipers' Son” is a short story by Frank Baum about poor piper named Tom. Tom is not a bad child by nature, though his father's lessons in thievery have somewhat corrupted him. Farmer Bowser realizes that one of his pigs is missing and started to search the town. Caught Tom, he confesses that it's he, who stole farmer's pig but ensures that he will turn honest and will never steal anymore. Is it possible to believe a person who was already found guilty?
