Walter Crane was primarily a designer and book illustrator, specialising in children's books, who created the colorful and detailed images, that associate with famous characters nowadays. “Aladdin” is a famous fairy tale, entered in “The Book of One Thousand and One Nights” ("The Arabian Nights"). Aladdin is a poor tailor’s son, who once meets a sorcerer from the Maghreb. The sorcerer passes himself off as the brother of Aladdin's father Mustapha, but his real motive is to assure young Aladdin to retrieve a wonderful oil lamp from a magic cave.
