Timothy Shay Arthur ,known as T.S. Arthur, was a popular 19th-century American author. «After a Shadow» is a philosophic story about «a shadow lesson». The story begins by portraying a scene on a bright June morning involving a little boy and his parents. So what happens in the scene is - the boy Arty runs after his shadow, perplexed, as to what it is that does not seem to leave his company. The boy is terribly afraid of this fact and asks his father to look at it. The father obviously laughs at it and tells his child that it is only his shadow and it is nothing essential, because everyone has a shadow and it is a commonplace. Every person is unique and can perceive things in a different way... How can you perceive this lesson after reading this story?
