Herbert George Wells was a prominent English writer who worked in a wide range of genres, but is mostly known for his science-fiction novels, such as 'The Time Machine', 'The Invisible Man', and 'The War Of The Worlds'. 'A Vision Of Judgment' is a short story in 9 sections, where the author depicts his idea of the Last Judgment. According to his idea saints and sinner are treated equally there: archangel Gabriel makes fun of ones the same way he scoffs at the others. After that the Lord takes all the souls together, gives them enlightenment and a chance to start a new life on a planet, as after the Last Judgment they should understand each other and God's Will much better. This short story is based on Wells's personal feelings toward religion, as his mother was a very religious woman who believed that the Lord could hear all her prayers...
